Quality Engineering

Quality engineering earns its keep by catching what would otherwise reach a customer — across functionality, APIs and performance under real load, not just a green checkmark on a CI dashboard. Most of that runs as API and UI test automation, written as BDD/SpecFlow scenarios both developers and business stakeholders can read. We've backed this practice with real automated-testing engagements: cutting mobile release testing time by 95%, and shortening release cycles for a production web platform through end-to-end automation.

Test Automation

Two layers, one suite: UI automation covers the paths a user actually walks, and API automation catches what a UI test never sees — a broken contract between services, a malformed response, a timeout under load. A deliberately standard stack underneath — Selenium and Playwright for web, Cucumber/Reqnroll for BDD, Appium for mobile, RestSharp/RestAssured for API, Mockito for mocking — with AI-assisted test generation layered on top, cutting feedback loops from days to under an hour. The stack is what makes it reliable; the AI layer is what makes it fast to extend.

  • End-to-end automation frameworks across web, mobile and API, built into CI/CD
  • Contract and schema validation between services, and integration testing across your actual service boundaries rather than mocked in isolation
  • Error-handling and failure-mode coverage at the API layer — timeouts, malformed input, rate limits
  • AI-assisted test case generation from requirements and existing code paths
  • Smoke and full regression suites automated in-sprint, as features ship — not bolted on months later
  • Flaky-test triage and suite maintenance as an ongoing practice, not a one-time setup

Performance Testing

Load testing that answers a specific question — will this hold up at the traffic you're actually expecting — rather than a generic benchmark that doesn't map to your real usage pattern. We test at every layer that can slow a user down: database, API, web and mobile.

  • Load testing against expected traffic, stress testing to find the actual breaking point, and endurance testing to catch what only shows up after hours under load
  • Scalability and concurrency testing — how the system behaves as user load and concurrent sessions climb, not just at one fixed number
  • Bottleneck identification down to the query or service, using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner and database profilers rather than a slow-page report
  • Client-side performance auditing (Google PageSpeed, YSlow) alongside backend load testing — a fast API behind a slow page is still a slow page
  • Performance regression gates in CI, so a slowdown gets caught before it ships

Functional Testing

Verifying the software does what it's supposed to — across the full range of real user paths and edge cases, not just the happy path a developer tested while writing the feature. Testing runs in the sprint the feature is built in, not after — catching a defect during development costs a fraction of catching it in production.

  • Manual and scripted functional test design against real requirements and user paths, written as BDD scenarios both developers and business stakeholders can read
  • Edge-case and negative-path testing, not just the happy path
  • Cross-browser and cross-device verification
  • Regression suites that grow with the product instead of going stale
  • In-sprint testing with dashboard-level defect and coverage reporting, not a QA sign-off that arrives after the deadline
